Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Representative - Durban
Key Responsibilities:
Developing Safety and Health Programs: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety and health programs to address workplace hazards, prevent accidents, and promote employee well-being.
Ensuring Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards, ensuring that the company meets or exceeds compliance requirements.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety and health risks, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and best practices for maintaining a safe work environment.
Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports outlining root causes and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Safety Culture Promotion: Promote a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility throughout the organization by fostering open communication, encouraging employee participation, and recognizing safety achievements.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety, health, and environmental considerations into all aspects of operations. Communicate effectively with management, employees, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders on safety-related matters.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve safety and health processes, procedures, and systems to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications.
Proven experience in safety, health, and environmental management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
