DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement health and safety plans, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment. Ensure revised documents are signed off by relevant 16.2 and implemented accordingly. Evaluating and monitoring compliance. This includes internal- and external audits and conformance evaluations, site visits. Incident management, where needed, conduct incident investigations. Analyse incident reports to implement changes that lead to a safer work environment. Recommend solutions to issues or improvement opportunities. Promoting Health and Safety and minimizing risks for employees. Refers to safety awareness, including but not limited to safety talks, posters, signs, training, etc. Communicate plans, policies, and procedures to employees. Reporting and statistics Safety meetings, HSE meetings, incident rating and reporting. Customer or contractor management. Safety files- oversee/assist or in some cases do the complete safety file. Contractor management- audit and ensuring compliance. Issuing Personal protective equipment Safety link between: Customer and company, Subcontractor and company, Management and employees, Company and HR, Head office and Branches Duties including but not limited to assisting the National Health and Safety Officer with the following: EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Safety Officer Accreditation At least 2 years' experience Travelling will be required (between Durban and Richards Bay) Must be fully computer literate (Word and Excel) Must show initiative and be able to work independently Friendly and able to deal with customers in a professional manner Attention to Detail Good communication skills, polite, prompt, work to deadlines and able to work well on your own Cost to company salary: R25 000
