SAICA Audit Clerk - George

Our client's offices are based locally and internationally. They are currently looking for a SAICA Audit Clerk to join their team in George, with positions also available in Mosselbaai and Oudtshoorn. Job Title: SAICA Audit Clerk Salary: R8500-R12 500(depending on qualifications and experience). We are looking for a SAICA audit clerk to join our audit company. As a SAICA clerk, you will be part of an audit team that performs audits of various clients in different industries. You will also get exposure, but not limited to, the compilation of financial statements, independent reviews, tax calculations and monthly accounting. The monthly accounting tasks would include the processing of large volumes of accounting transactions, calculation and reconciliation of VAT and payroll. It is important for a SAICA clerk to understand auditing, as well as understanding the basics of the accounting systems. The candidate must enjoy providing customer service and be reliable. A high attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills are also important. We are looking for a team player who is also able to work independently. The candidate will be reporting to the audit manager and audit director. Minimum Requirements: - Grade 12 (with good grades in Accounting and Mathematics), studying towards a SAICA accredited degree in accounting. - Comprehensive understanding of accounting practices and procedures. - Excellent computer skills. - Experience with financial software (Pastel/Sage Online/Xero) and knowledge of Draftworx will be advantageous. - Fully bilingual : English and Afrikaans. Main Duties: - Auditing of financial statements. - Compilation of financial statements. - Independent review of financial statements. - Processing of invoices and bank transactions. - Reconciliation of bank accounts. - Reconciliation of debtors and creditors. - Preparation of year to date VAT reconciliations. - Completion and submission of VAT201 returns and payments. - Handling of SARS VAT reviews and audits. - Preparation of management accounts - Keeping your SAICA assessment process up to date Attributes: - Excellent communication skills both telephone and email. - Must be able to communicate directly with clients in a professional and confident manner. - Determined, self-motivated and target driven. - Extremely organized with strong attention to detail. - Strong problem solving skills. - Excellent system skills - ability to learn and adapt to new software easily. - Ability to handle large volumes of processing and queries in a pressured environment. - Ability to work to tight deadlines and targets. - Ability to work independently.
