Sales Manager - Leisure and MICE - Johannesburg

Company Description Minor Hotels is an international hotel owner, operator and investor, currently with a diverse portfolio of over 530 properties designed intelligently to appeal to a variety of travellers, serving new passions as well as personal needs. Work with the property teams to assist with sales strategy to include positioning, pricing, competition analysis with focus on generating revenues from assigned Wholesale and MICE markets. Provide proactive, reactive and marketing services to all Minor Hotels properties, within the assigned sales territory to approved customer database. Provide a full area market intelligence service about the competition and the leisure and MICE travel trade market and trends on a monthly basis. Design the strategic outlines of a monthly sales activity plan. Solicit the MICE and Leisure industries for all Travel Agents, Tour Operators and High-end travel agents for the MH African hotels in appointed markets assigned by the DOSM Focus on assertively establishing new client contacts and developing detailed information on the potential revenues from these accounts for the portfolio of Minor Hotels African properties. Organize and run product training with the leisure and MICE travel trade. Participate in client familiarization trips, site inspections, sales trips and Roadshow as required to meet the sales targets of the African hotels. Conduct a minimum of 15 physical sales calls and 15 tele-sales calls per week locally. Ensure local DMC's are aware of our products and offers to drive sales. Provide weekly and monthly reports about all sales activities and business trends as well as trip reports. Handle sales events, exhibitions and sales trips upon budget plan for the African hotels for appointed markets. Introduce and update key and select travel agents through join and sole sales calls. Co-host breakfasts, lunches and dinners with relevant trade partners to present Minor Hotels African properties to key customers in appointed markets. Arrange/coordinate and propose educational site visits for product managers, reservation staff, travel departments, tour operators and incentive agencies. Handle all incoming inquiries from the travel trade, consumer and media from designated territory in conjunction with the Reservation team. Continually review the actual production of each account against the potential contracted room nights target. Ensure that the Minor Hotels brand is positioned within the marketplace. Ensure an up-to-date knowledge on all MH African hotels product and service offerings, including promotions. In addition, to be familiar with the products, services, rates new developments of our key competitors, and an awareness of general industry trends. Drive opportunities to up sell and cross-sell MH products. Attend and participate in weekly/monthly Sales Strategy Meetings with the African hotel teams. Represents MH African hotels during designated trade shows and sales trips appointed by the DOSM - Actively targets new accounts via sales calls, sales trips, trade shows, etc. and liaise with regional sales managers for leads on direct bookings made at property level by SA based clients. Maintain file records, call and activity reports, to be synchronized regularly. When necessary, assists in the organization of special events with Cluster Sales teams and the Regional Marketing department.
