Our client, in the shipping industry is looking for a Sales representative for Port Elizabeth. Present and sell products and services to new and existing vessels. Respond to any queries from the vessels and ship management companies products and services. Identify and resolve any customer concerns. Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from the past and current sales activities. Find and contact new vessels in order to grow the client base, sales volumes and revenue Establish and maintain current and new client's relationships Distribute available sales materials and request that material is replenished. Demonstrate and maintain general knowledge of products and services Strive to obtain additional orders from vessels (as a result in external sales) Receive additional orders from vessels (as a result in external sales) Ensure quotations for additional orders are sent to vessels or ship management companies timeously Send confirmation of order documentation to vessel at least two days (where possible) prior to the vessel arriving Ensure that estimated time of arrival of a vessel has been confirmed and inform al relevant departments. Meet and Greet Vessel as soon as possible after arrival. Manage order processing and deliveries through communication with the responsible departments. Follow up on order /delivery changes and returns Check all orders delivered on board a vessel was received in good order and respond to any queries. Ensure that all necessary documentation is produced, processed, signed and stamp (by the Master of the vessel) and handed to the relevant departments. Follow up on collections of cash payments and receive cash payments. Ensure that cash received is handed over to the Purser or Director as a matter of urgency. Update and correctly maintain the delivery and ETA Boards Ensure that ship files ae completed correctly (inclusive of statutory information -VAT 266) and hand the files over to the Receptionists Ensure that Sales Representatives reports are completed correctly Be accountable and responsible for each vessel as well as the relevant documentation for the vessel. Attend daily sales meetings Assist fellow representatives as and where needed to ensure that Sales Team targets and goal are met.
