Senior Accountant - Kimberley

An established Accounting Firm in Kimberley is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team Purpose of the Role: Forming part of a team providing accounting, tax, and general advisory services to a client portfolio. This entails assisting a manager in the fields of accounting and regulatory requirements with a specific focus on relationships with clients to guarantee and surpass their expectations of service delivery. Candidate Requirements Prerequisites i.to qualification and work experience: •Eligible to register as a Chartered Accountant (SA) or already registered; • Registered Professional Accountant (SA); • B.Com degree and/or equivalent accounting degree, completed SAIPA or SAICA articles and at least 3-years' relevant, post article experience; or • Matric (with accounting as a subject), completed SAIPA or SAICA articles and at least 8-years' relevant, post article experience Other prerequisites: • Proficient in Afrikaans & English • MS Office Preferred but not required experience: • Draftworx • Xero • Dext / Hubdoc • Accfin / Skytax • SARS e-filing The ideal candidate should have: • Self-motivation • Analytical skills Interpersonal skills • Great communication skills • Organisational skills • Time management skills • Problem solving skills, Report writing skills and Training presentation skills • Planning skills • Management & leadership skills Key responsibilities: • Taking overall responsibility for assigned work; • Being able to work independently; • Supporting and coaching junior team members to develop themselves on a personal and technical level; • Interrogating current practices and proposing enhancements to improve efficiencies with a specific focus on technology; • Identify- and requesting information required from clients and/or other sources; • Taking responsibility of monthly financial accounting services; • Preparing reconciliations of financial statement line items; • Compiling financial statements; • Proposing appropriate accounting treatments in line with applicable financial reporting standards; • Calculating Provisional and Annual Income tax; • Reconciling and Submitting input/output VAT; • Reviewing work performed by junior team members; Identifying errors and proposing appropriate remedies; and • Adhering to deadlines in a timeous manner. In addition, the following internal tasks will also be required: • Accurate record keeping and adhering to set budgets; • Adhering to internal strategic goals and operational activities in terms of approved policies and procedures; • Taking ownership of personal development through development plans and requesting continuous feedback on progress in relation to these plans (performance management); • Complying to risk management and related policies and procedures; and •Ensuring that quality assurance standards/measures are met, both internally set standards and the requirements of external bodies Salary; R18 000- R30 000 Closing date: 27 October 2023 Apply Now
