Senior Accountant - South Africa
Our client in the Logistics and Transportation industry is currently looking for a Senior Accountant. The successful candidate will be based in their Kraaifontein office. Overall Role Function: The overall objective of the Senior Accountant is to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions Qualifications: Matric Computer Literacy (MS Office, Outlook) Accounting Software (Microsoft Evolution) Advanced Studies (Tertiary Diploma/Degree) Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles will be an advantage Responsibilities: Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analysing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries. Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet profit and loss, and other statements. Analyse financial trends. Monthly Finance Reporting. VAT Preparation and submissions. Creating payment batches Manage weekly and monthly payments. Completes external audit by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors. Assist with internal audits when required Prepare Forecast costs and Revenues. Prepare Budgets. Maintenance on asset registers Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements. Secures financial information by completing database backups. Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential Personal Qualities: Excellent administrative skills Excellent communication skills Detail oriented Able to work well with a team and under pressure Must be diligent and time competent in order to meet deadlines Must be client service focused (internal clients/staff) Must be honest, reliable and trustworthy Be willing to work flexible hours Be willing to perform duties on weekends if needed Be versatile and responsive to change Salary offered: Market related and depending on experience Starting date: As soon as possible.
