Reference: JHB003068-SS-1Our client in the logistics industry is urgently looking to employ a Senior Accountant at their organization Location: Kraaifontein, Cape TownRequirements: Matric Degree/Diploma in Accounting/finance related qualification 5-7 years of experience in a similar role Microsoft Evolution experience Experience within the transport industry is preferred Staff management experience Must be fluent in Afrikaans Must be willing to work flexible hours. Must be willing to perform duties on weekends. Responsibilities: Oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analysing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries. Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements. Completes external audit by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors. Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements. Secures financial information by completing database backups. Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential. MR - MR - Monthly
