Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Tableview, Western Cape. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations and reporting for a diverse portfolio of service-related businesses, trusts, and properties. You will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, proficiency in various accounting software, and the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues. Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance against targets and providing insights for decision-making. Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and support business operations. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with the preparation of tax returns and other compliance-related activities. Financial Analysis: Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Audit Support: Facilitate audits by providing necessary documentation and assisting auditors as required. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional Certification: Preferably completed or pursuing professional certification such as CA (SA), CPA, or equivalent. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles. Experience in both public and private sectors preferred. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software such as Pastel, Simple Accounts, etc. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders at all levels. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Team Player: Collaborative attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
