Senior Developer - South Africa/Madrid, Manchester or London Position Leverage a strong understanding of microservice architecture to design, develop and implement scalable and distributed microservice based platforms, in an AWS environment, with an agile methodology. Measures : The Key Performance Indicators for this role are driven by the line business' operational goals, and related IT business-aligned goals, and cover the following categories of performance: Systems effectiveness (measured by customer and user satisfaction) Project milestones and quality criteria (measured by exceptional non-conformance) KPI's set for the system performance and uptime Optimizing Performance Qualifications Essential Qualifications Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology Desirable Qualifications Certifications in Java, Java Enterprise Edition/Spring, Front End JavaScript are advantageous Certifications in AWS Major/Key Accountabilities Maintain cohesion at the design, coding and architectural framework level of the platform as a critical asset for delivering value by acting with transparency and documenting each progress Design, develop, and implement microservices-based solutions using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, TDD and BDD Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and other developers, to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle, from planning and design to deployment and maintenance. Ensure the scalability, reliability security, and performance of microservice applications, adhering to best practices and industry standards. Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Working as a team also involving production issues. Customer centricity mindset. Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers. Building reusable code for future use and reduction of technical debt Ensuring architecture principles are adhered to. Provide an active role in successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals Operating Metrics/Quality standards Looking for Deep technical knowledge of API Java technologies, AWS capabilities in a collaborative framework. Experience with Spring framework, RESTful API services, supporting and/or implementing complex integration projects. Skills and Knowledge : Agile principles with a strong focus on Scrum framework as well as the principles of Kanban and flow Proficient understanding of code versioning (Git) Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) Knowledge of Java Enterprise Edition/Spring with core experience in microservices This position is required to understand API design and how to create connections between different applications and channels. More than three years working in an environment that includes AWS, microservices, SAP and API Gateway. Use API design principles and best practices, such as RESTful, GraphQL, or SOAP, to create APIs that are consistent, clear, and reliable. Able to use API documentation tools and formats, such as Swagger, Postman, or Markdown, to create complete, accurate, and up-to-date API documentation. Java is our main programming language, deep knowledge of Java17 and different design patterns including Lamdba expressions or Java Util Concurrent API, Maven, Springboot are also essential. Knowledge of Terraform and also Dynatrace for observability. Atlassian ecosystem for CiCd. Ability to communicate fluently details on supported HTTP methods, meaning of each resource exposed, associated query parameters and meaning example payloads. Deep knowledge of Domain Modelling, typical design patterns for microservices, containers and Kubernetes. Also securing configuration and communications.
