We are currently recruiting for a Senior Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. Accountable for the OMF and OMTS financial accounting and tax function including: Ensure that monthly and annual financial statements are delivered timeously and accurately, in accordance with IFRS and other Old Mutual Group reporting requirements. Prepare financial reports for the OMF and OMTS Executive and Board to support the financial governance & decision-making processes. Ensure a robust financial control environment is maintained and compliance to OMF finance policies is always adhered to. OMF and OMTS Taxation (including Income Tax, VAT and securities Tax), including policy alignment with Old Mutual Group, tax calculations and payments, tax risk management and liaison with SARS. Effectively lead a team of professionals, providing the necessary support and guidance. Ensure that monthly financial reporting deadlines met timeously, including Old Mutual Group reporting requirements. Ensure that the annual financial statements are delivered on time and in accordance with IFRS standards. Liaise with external audit to ensure on-time delivery of clean audit opinion for annual and interim reporting. Maintain the financial control environment including ownership of Finance policies and related controls. Ensure all financial accounting processes and records are executed in accordance with OMF policies, financial governance principles and legislative accounting requirements. Accountable for effective and accurate financial accounting including oversight of reconciliations, recording and processing functions. Provide insightful input into the OMF strategy and planning processes and make recommendations to improve the efficiency of the business to assist in enhancing group profitability. Responsible for all areas of OMF and OMTS Taxation including tax policies, Tax Risk Management and tax processes and the successful implementation thereof. Maintain formal ways of working with Old Mutual group tax including policy alignment and SARS query resolution. Continuously seek improvements in accounting and tax processes and procedures and manage the change process when improvements are implemented. Stay abreast of accounting trends, relevant legislation, and events in the accounting industry. Management of staff members according to HR Best Practices and Policies: recruitment, EE, induction, task setting and delegation, performance management, development planning, managing staffing capacity, succession planning, rewards and recognition and employee relations issues. CA (SA) qualification with 5 years plus post-article experience, with relevant experience gained in the financial services sector. Ability to understand and apply financial accounting principles and concepts including knowledge of IFRS. Ability to understand Income Tax legislation. Experience with calculating and submissions of VAT and Income Tax. Ability to understand complex financial processes and systems (General Ledger, Sub-ledgers, etc.). Proven ability to work as a team player to ensure effective delivery of reporting, tasks, projects and any other related deliverables. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Advanced Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) is essential. Proven ability to implement efficiencies that enhance the control environment to manage financial and business risk. Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
