MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The key function of this position is to be balanced in the server and network realm as the lead engineer, with focus on cybersecurity. This role is responsible for developing and implementing secure network solutions, secure and stable server environment, maintain the company firewalls and ensuring high uptime. This role will also be responsible for design, implementation and support of the server infrastructure, Firewall Management, network environment (LAN, WAN & Wi-Fi), as well as the switching fabric. IT Infrastructure availability Back-office support (all internal systems) Dealing with escalations Service desk ticket management Capacity Management Virtual and Physical Documentation Reporting Backups & Restores of Servers Escalating to Facilities on Equipment Pick Ups O365 Administration & Configuration Asset Management software Maintenance of Infrastructure 2ic to Senior Server Engineer Maintenance of CCTV File Share (Folder Permissions) Microsoft Hybrid Exchange Administration Network Management (LAN and WAN) Fortinet Firewall Administration & Monitoring VMware Configuration QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Matric Minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience in a networking server and server role MCSE FortiGate firewall certified training advantageous, Alternatively, 3 years’ experience CCNA (Advantageous) Excellent understanding of switching and routing and their related technologies Excellent understanding and experience on core Microsoft Server functionalities Strong experience with IT physical and virtual infrastructure (Storage & VMware) BEHAVIOUR AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Takes Accountability and ownership Great team player Self-confident Highly motivated Able to work independently Accustomed to working in a high-energy environment Logical person that can prioritise tasks assigned Analytical thinker Strong Technical skills Good Time Management Strong written and verbal communication skills Remuneration: A market related package including benefits.
