NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY (POTCHEFSTROOM CAMPUS) FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES SCHOOL OF PSYCHOSOCIAL HEALTH POSITION NUMBER: P000177 VACANCY: SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER PEROMNES GRADE: A7/A8 EMPLOYMENT TYPE: FIXED-TERM APPOINTMENT (WITH BENEFITS) PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONAppointing a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer to contribute towards undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, practice supervision of students and research supervision of post graduate students in the subject group Clinical Psychology.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Teaching and learningResearch and innovation.Student supervisionSocial responsiveness and industry involvement.Academic leadership and administration. SENIOR LECTURER:An MA or MSc in Clinical Psychology (NQF Level 9).Registered as Clinical Psychologist with the HPCSA.A minimum of two (2) years’ research and innovation experience with at least two publications in accredited journals and experience of supervising M-Level students towards graduation.A minimum of five (5) years’ generic clinical psychology experience within a clinical practice.LECTURER:An MA or MSc in Clinical Psychology (NQF Level 9).Registered as Clinical Psychologist with the HPCSA.A minimum of three (3) years’ generic clinical psychology experience within a clinical practice.RECOMMENDATION:PhD in Clinical Psychology (NQF Level 10).A minimum of two (2) years' teaching and learning experience on Senior Lecturer level and one (1) year teaching and learning experience on Lecturer level.FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS):Ability and experience to work from an evidence-based approach in Psychology.Excellent communication skills (verbally and written).Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU.Computer literacy (Microsoft office, e-mails, power point, software for data analysis).BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:Ability to use e-media for teaching, studying and communication.The ability to work well independently and also in a team.Good time management and ability to work well under pressure.REMUNERATION:The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
