To our future Senior Manager: Financial Institutions Do you enjoy managing and developing productive relationships with clients, both banks and other Financial Institutions e.g. Asset Managers alike? You will be responsible for optimizing business transactions with Correspondent Banks and providing advisory services on matters which may impact the Bank. With you as our Senior Manager, you will play a crucial role in optimizing business transactions with Correspondent Banks and providing advisory services on matters which may impact the Bank. Your day at Bidvest Bank will involve: Client Centricity - Deliver superior customer service to both internal and external customers e.g. Local/Foreign Correspondent Banks, Counterparties and Financial Institutions. - Act as the centre point for escalations to and from our Correspondent Banks, Counterparties and Financial Institutions. - Implement controls and manage these to ensure appropriate service levels agreements are met for all clients. - Proactively initiate client meetings as appropriate and follow up on business opportunities and client queries with the relevant product areas. - Obtain credit limits for Trade Finance and Treasury business to support liquidity and trading operations of the Group. - Map out new clients / product opportunities and engage closely with all areas/stakeholders where applicable, to initiate new business. - Prepare relevant stakeholder proposals and term sheets. - Coordinate and lead internal stakeholders to ensure that the strategy and revenue targets are met. Risk and Governance - In collaboration with compliance colleagues, ensure all KYC/CDD documentation and SSI information is obtained and in place timeously. - Ensure legal documentation (e.g. ISDA/CSA/GMRA) is in place to allow our product partners to trade. - Review the processes and procedures pertaining to Correspondent Banks, Counterparties and FI's. Recommend changes and update in accordance with the latest industry requirements and regulations. - Streamline and automate processes for efficiency and effectiveness. - Monitor and understand our Correspondent Banks competitors and behaviour to ensure we are using the correct Correspondent Banks - Act as coordinator on requests from Correspondent Banks and Financial Institutions regarding AML/Sanction queries - Ensure all AML/KYC and RFI requests from our Correspondent Banks, Counterparties and FI's have been actioned timeously. - Adherence to relevant legislation in accordance the role, keeping abreast of industry changes. - Maintain a sustainable balance between protecting the Bank's interests and maximizing new business growth. - In collaboration with the Payments & Settlements team, to be responsible for the financial control, resolution and tracking of relevant items on settlement and suspense accounts. - Identify key risks in the FI area and implement controls to measure, monitor, and mitigate these risks. Financial Management - Management of costs within target. - Continuous management and monitoring of revenue from all FI products, Correspondent Bank and Counterparty activity. - Manage and monitor revenue leakage, ensuring adequate control measures are in place for revenue in all areas of operations. - Affect revenue recoveries and limit controllable costs. - Perform financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting as it relates to FI products. - Continued analysis of the market for new FI products in alignment to client needs and identify opportunities for revenue growth. - Maximise bank profitability using data e.g. Client profitability, Product profitability, cross sell, and transactional pricing/ volume analysis People Management - Monitoring and managing the deliverables, output, and performance of subordinates. - Effective communication of the strategy and progress of the business to the team - Contribute to continuous process improvement and share best practices. - Management of employee performance and disciplinary issues in the workplace - Ensure employees are continuously trained and developed to perform competently. - Drive and implement talent and succession within the team The ideal Senior Manager: Financial Institutions will be in possession of: - Honour Degree: Financial Management/ Banking/Accounting or related - At least 10 years' experience in International Payments and Financial Institutions roles. - At least 5 years' experience in a management role.
