Senior Manager: Technical Masts and Towers - cvmaster - Centurion

SENIOR MANAGER: TECHNICAL MASTS & TOWERS LOCATION: CENTURION POSITION DESCRIPTION Responsible for leading the company’s Technical Mast and Towers properties division by driving the optimization of the portfolio while owning and managing operating expenditure and the asset value of the sites. Responsible for the development of a Technical portfolio strategy related to Mast and Tower sites, balancing business requirements with current and longer term needs. Responsible for producing a rolling 'fix it' plan for top key issues presented by business relating to Mast and Tower sites from a technical perspective. Also responsible for managing relevant compliance and risks across the portfolio whilst at the same time ensuring a positive customer experience QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ECSA registration as Professional Engineer 3 Year formal Degree/Diploma, preferably in the technical (engineering or IT) or commerce domain (NQF level 7) 8 years applicable technical/ telecommunications experience with demonstrated success in commercial/finance management of property related portfolios with min. 3 years of senior management experience SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS A willingness to travel as well as a valid South African driver's license Experience in planning, running and managing the Mast and Towers from a technical perspective Experience in tower build and refurbishment End to end facilities management ownership and delivery roles, including managing internal operations and outsourced provider Green building experience and environmental management issues Leasing, re gearing and retail lease negotiation experience POSITION OUTPUTS Technical Support to M&T Strategy Accountable for supporting portfolio strategy initiatives, in partnership with the Commercial Lead for M&T, outsourced provider(s) & peer groups, with the goal of meeting current and future requirements of business platforms at optimal costs Developing a solid understanding of the business unit, proactively applying knowledge of the business to provide cost effective Mast and Tower site solutions Responsible for the transition of initiatives from the strategy and business case approval stage to implementation, within the Technical arena New Tower Build Technical Support Support interaction with key customers around translating of new build requirements into technical specifications for execution Support on business case development for new build and refurbishment through innovative technical solutions Project governance and oversight for all mast and towers projects and ensure compliance to standards and regulations Final Signoff and acceptance of all technical Masts and Towers builds Responsible for portfolio restructuring and positioning - portfolio evaluation e.g. utilization, location & performance in support of changing business needs to align with technology evolution Execution Excellence and on-going Portfolio Optimization Benchmark performance internally and externally to develop and maintain a business leadership position relating to the Mast and Tower sites - End to end ownership of property management execution for transactions e.g. acquisition, disposition, construction, refurbishment, managing relocations and co-hosting with other Operators as required Develop technical strategies to drive on-going operational efficiency: Capex and Opex optimization as well as technical solution to drive revenue maximization on the existing portfolio Support with the development and Implementation of Safety, Health and Environment Management (SHE) and enable a conducive working environment Support the Mast and Tower lifecycle technical issues from acquisition to disposal Support the development of budgets, expenditure and performance reporting Support in the development of annual targets for cost reduction (both operating run rate and improved capital expense that's measured quarterly) Produce monthly feedback, progress, risks and issues tracker relating to the technical state of the portfolio Masts and Towers Technology Market Analysis and Insight Support on development of point of view on the technology evolution in the telecoms market, and how these impact on the long term portfolio strategy for Masts and Towers Ensure portfolio remains relevant and resistant to market evolutionary changes Apply Now
