Our esteemed engineering consultancy, is in search of a seasoned Senior Materials and Pavement Engineer to join our vibrant team. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity for you to apply your extensive expertise in materials investigations, pavement engineering, and contract administration to contribute significantly to the successful delivery of our roads and highways projects. As a key member of our Roads/Highways section, you will undertake a diverse array of tasks, ranging from materials investigations to contract administration, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability. Additionally, this role may entail occasional travel within South Africa or potentially to other African countries, providing you with exposure to diverse projects and challenges. We are committed to the principles of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) for the advancement of previously disadvantaged individuals Materials Investigations: Coordinate small tenders for survey and soils laboratories Plan and execute borehole and centerline surveys Conduct general trial pitting and liaise with soils laboratories for analysis Prepare comprehensive materials reports Pavement Engineering Tasks: Conduct visual inspections of gravel and surfaced roads Assist in pavement and pavement rehabilitation design Analyze materials results and perform pavement analysis Assist with traffic data collection and subsequent analysis Conduct economic analysis for pavement design alternatives Tender Documents: Collaborate in the preparation of thorough tender documents Contract Administration: Administer contracts for various roads and highways projects Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards Qualifications: Minimum of a BSc or BEng degree in Civil Engineering Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is mandatory A Master's degree in Pavement Engineering will be advantageous Possession of a valid driver's license is essential Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role Demonstrated track record in developing innovative technical solutions Experience in guiding and mentoring junior staff Senior project management experience Demonstrated client liaison experience Market Related
