Senior Process Engineer - Port Elizabeth

- New Programs: Lead manufacturing cost studies & development of engine assembly manufacturing strategy, using a combination of proven technology & common practices that align to global manufacturing Bill of Process. Co-lead resolution of manufacturing concerns & feasibility issues within the Component Programme Module Team. Lead development of process documentation, Dynamic Control Planning, Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis, process sheets, error proofing, etc. Provide Facility and Tooling cost estimates to support Program Target Compatibility Milestone & Program Approval gateways. Responsible to meet program timing plans & recovery actions. - Machine requisition & acceptance: Lead new/ refurbished equipment requisition activity from enquiry specification development, purchase, design, initial run-off, installation, final capability and machine acceptance. - Production support: Identification and analysis of the first time through contributors that negatively affect Quality & Delivery metrics, for issue resolution on engine assembly, daily. - Standards: Adherence to global, regional & local manufacturing & safety standards. - Coaching: Provide technical leadership, coaching & teaching to peers to ensure effective skills transfer. - Lead the implementation of engineering changes related to products, processes, and tooling, while considering safety, quality, delivery, cost, and environmental impact. - Good understanding and problem-solving skills of engine assembly processes. - Ensure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Government and Environmental standards (ISO 14001). - Liaise with manufacturing engineering (PTME) to co-ordinate changes affecting simultaneous engineering. - Prepare Capital Investment Budget projects for engineering projects identified. - Support the Plant Information Centre (PIC) process by developing action plans to investigate and address quality and delivery concerns. Additionally, verify corrective actions for both internal processes and supplier processes. - Accountable for correct implementation/ use of safety processes to ensure safety of plant personnel. - Ensure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Government and Environmental standards (ISO 14001). - Liaise with manufacturing engineering (PTME) to co-ordinate changes affecting simultaneous engineering. - Prepare Capital Investment Budget projects for engineering projects identified. - Support the Plant Information Centre (PIC) process by developing action plans to investigate and address quality and delivery concerns. Qualification: National Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or Trade tested Toolmaker with National Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) - Good technical knowledge of metal cutting & engineering principles. - Understanding of production processes, including engine assembly. - Excellent analytical, rhetorical and communication skills. - Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD. - Good understanding of 2D drawings, 3D models, DC fastening systems. - 5 years absolute minimum experience in process development within a manufacturing facility - machining and / or assembly (automotive). - Knowledge and experience of 3D printing will be a plus. - Good understanding of the MTC process.
