Sales Manager Introduction and Job PurposeA well-established group of companies specializing in plastic piping systems requires the above to be responsible for to develop new business, maintain existing business, and lead the sales team for sales into the South African Mining and other industries and into Africa.The Sales Manager will report to the GM and be accountable for the sales platform and the results.RequirementsMinimum education (essential)MatricMinimum education (desirable)Bcom GeneralSales related qualifications.Minimum applicable experience (years)5-10 years’ experience in the sales environment.Required nature of experienceProven sales management experience.Previous sales experience from any technical industry i.e.: steel, fibre optics, engineering, water, environmental, agricultural, irrigation, chemical, is essential.Proven sales experience within the plastics or related industry.Must have the ability to read Engineering drawings.Knowledge of the plastic pipe industry is helpful.Ability to solve practical problems is essential.Excellent technical aptitude.Ability to work independently as well as within a team.Excellent planning skills and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.Sound ability to communicate effectively across all levels.Flexibility to travel to site from time-to-time.Skills and Knowledge (essential)Know and understand the South African Mining and other industries and Africa from either having sold similar or related products to themExcellent communication and customer service skills (Oral and Written).Good networkerAbility to see potential clients and secure sales with them.Ability to read Engineering Drawings (PandID’s, GA’s, ISO’s etc).Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Technically inclined.Ability to do “Quick Quotes” when a customer needs small quantities op Product.OtherResiding in Pretoria.Valid drivers’ licence and own transport.Valid PassportKey Performance Areas and responsibilities. Preparing a Sales and Marketing plan for this unitDeveloping and maintaining business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory / market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products.Optimizing the existing customer base by promoting and selling existing and new products and services to our customers.Researching sources for developing prospective customers and information to determine their potential.Analysing the territory / market’s potential and determining the value of existing and prospective customer’s value to the organization.Managing a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, determining more sales opportunities.Providing feedback and recommendations on new products, services and market conditions to customers and executive management.Provide quotations, technical support, specification / data sheets and other support to customers.Offer professional, effective and efficient solutions to customer enquiries.Develop new customer potential by examining market opportunities and potential customer needs and selling solutions to potential customers.Participate in setting sales objectives and be accountable for achieving sales targets.Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies, which will fit the organizations core values and mission.Receive orders, report to different business units, follow up with customers to check if they are satisfied and make sure that payments come in as per arrangements with specific customers.Expediting the resolution of customer problems and complaints.Coordinating sales effort with the sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.Identifying advantages of the organization’s products against competitor.Planning and organising personal sales strategy by maximizing the return on Time Investment for the territory/segment.Supplying management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and value-added services.Keeping abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.Participating in trade shows and conventions as required.RemunerationMarket related commission, (Base salary dependent on experience) See Description See Description Apply Now
