JOB DESCRIPTION: Job Title: Senior Specialist: Data Integration & Operational Analytics Job Type: Permanent Job Industry: Telecommunications Location: Johannesburg CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The core purpose of the Senior Specialist: Data Integration & Operational Analytics is to play a key role in the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of extraction processes for credit risk analytics data, ensuring efficiency, quality, and ease of use. The holder of this position will, under the management of the Manager: Data Integration & Operational Analytics be a technical lead in data analysis relating to credit risk and billing operations, ranging across the credit lifecycle, translating data into valuable information to inform business decisions and to quantify the impact of those decisions. Furthermore, the position entails the creation of dashboards that visualize the reports and analyses created by credit risk analysts. Lastly, they would also play a crucial role in the configuration and testing processes to ensure accurate transfer of business rules into the credit vetting decision engine. Credit Risk Analytics forms part of the wider Credit Risk and Billing environment within the company Finance environment. The organization is responsible for risk analysis across the entire credit lifecycle of the post-paid customer base, including consumers as well as businesses. Furthermore, the team is responsible for provisions modelling and modelling and analysis that supports the setting of the post-paid credit risk appetite and credit book management. Other analyses done within this team support fact-based decisioning within the credit vetting process, billing, debt collection as well as other credit risk management activities. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: 1. Data Extraction: Provide input into the design, and execute on development, implementation, and monitoring data extraction processes for key credit risk analytics data, ensuring efficiency, quality, stability, and ease of use. Play an active role in data warehousing and the building of dimensional marts. Liaise with data stewards across the company to ensure accurate credit risk data of high quality in a format that is conducive to analysis. Sharing information and knowledge to the data integration team and key members across Credit Risk Analytics in order to ensure business continuity. 2. Data Analysis: Perform analysis relating to credit risk and billing operations, ranging across the credit lifecycle, translating data into valuable information to recommend and inform business decisions and to quantify the impact of those decisions. Support credit risk analysts to ensure accurate analysis and modelling. 3. System Configuration and Integration: Accurate translation of business rules is configured and tested before implementation in the credit decisioning system. 4. Visualization: Creation of dashboards that visualize the reports and analyses created by credit risk analysts. 5. Required Skills & Capabilities: Adaptability to various platforms and programming languages. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proven Collaboration skills. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Good Project Management Skills. Strong analytical ability. 6. Key Deliverables: Completion of departmental projects within agreed time frames. Customer satisfaction. Continuous improvement of risk data accuracy and quality. Creation and improvement of credit risk and operational dashboards to monitor performance and risk management within Credit Risk and Billing. Achievement of departmental performance targets. Alignment with Credit & Risk strategy. Efficient and effective operational processes and procedures. 7. Collaboration/ Key Stakeholders: Manager: Senior Specialist Data Integration & Operational Analytics, Analysts. Key customers: Internal as well as external. Key suppliers: IS; Credit Bureau. Relations, etc.: Marketing, Sales & Service, external and internal auditors IS. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1. Education Requirements: Efficient and effective operational processes and procedures. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Advanced Mathematics/ Business Mathematics/ Statistics/ Risk Management or similar field. Honours degree in in relevant field will be advantageous. Programming courses and qualifications/certifications will be beneficial. 2. Experience Required: At least 4 years' working experience in data configuration, data management and analytics.
