Senior SYSPRO Applications Administrator - - Durban

Job purpose

Responsible for configuration and maintenance of the full Syspro ERP System and anycustomization thereto. Specifically, SYSPRO.
Apart from Maintaining SYSPRO on a day-to-day level, integration into SIMA and other systems will be required
To conduct testing and qualityassurance on custom configurations for ongoing continuous improvements.
Enhance security of Syspro ERP and ensure the Syspro ERP system adheres to sound internal controls.
Responsible for documentation, user management, Syspro Partner vendor liaison, System performance monitoring and continuous system improvements

Duties and responsibilities

Installation and Configuration
Setup and configuration of the Syspro System settings, modules, and workflows.
Install patches, updates, and new releases in Syspro.
Manage customisations and the impact of version upgrades on the customisations.
Testing and Quality Assurance -Conduct thorough testing of Syspro ERP configurations and customizations. Identify and test any bugs during the testing phase.
Data Management - Ensure data integrity and consistency across the ERP System, SYSPRO and related ERP Systems.
Verify Regular back up of the system and develop a disaster recovery plan in conjunction
with the Backups and DR managed by Silicon Sky.
Manage data imports and exports through Syspro and third-party APIs.
System Maintenance and Performance Monitoring - Ensure the ERP System operates at optimal performance.
Monitor system health and troubleshoot any performance issues.
Conduct regular system diagnostics and maintenance routines.
User Management -Create, modify, and remove user accounts and set permissions.
Monitor user activities and ensure adherence to best practice.
Masterfile Data Management -Maintain Masterfile data and change request in accordance with Internal Control Policy.
Training -Train new users on the Syspro ERP system
Develop training materials and conduct refresher courses for existing users.
Provide AD HOC training to End users as required to maintain and operate SYSPRO efficiently
Support -Provide first-line support for users facing issues with the system.
Collaborate with Syspro or third-party vendors for advanced troubleshooting.
Customization & Integration - Modify the ERP system to suit specific business processes, which may involve working with developers.
Integrate Syspro with other systems and software the company uses.
All development work must be signed off in advance by completing the system change request form.
Create custom reports as needed to support decision making processes.
Security - Ensure the security of the ERP system by setting up firewalls, encryption, and other necessary security measures.
Regularly review and update security protocols.
Documentation -Create and maintain system documentation, including user manuals, technical guides,and process flow diagrams.
Document all customizations, integrations, and configurations.
Continuous Improvement - Stay updated with the latest features and enhancements provided by Syspro.
Recommend and implement improvements and additional Syspro offerings to optimize the ERP system for business needs.
Eliminate batch processing and enable real time processing of all transactions.
Digitisation of business process into Syspro.
Stakeholder Communication -
Regularly communicate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and feedback regarding the ERP system.
Coordinate with departments to ensure smooth operations and alignment with business goals.
Project Management -Lead or participate in ERP-related projects, such as upgrades, migrations, and specialprojects.
Vendor Liaison - Maintain a strong relationship with the Syspro Partner vendor or any third-party consultants.
Stay updated on new releases, patches, and any potential system issues.
Month End Processes: - Support month end finalization process in accordance with the prescribed corporate timelines for month end results. Internal Control and Assurance
Assist Internal Audit with system ERP control improvements for good corporate governance.

Qualifications

Preferred: Bachelors degree in Computer Information systems / Information Technology/ Computer Science or proven experience based equivalent qualification.
Syspro Administration and Business process Certifications.
Project Management will be advantageous.

Technical Skills

SQL server reporting and complex query writing.
Syspro Report writer skills.
Proficiency in programming languages will be an added advantage.
Strong functional knowledge of accounting, finance, supply chain management, sales, manufacturing process and job costing.
Proficient in business processes and controls.

Experience

Minimum 5 years experience in Syspro Administration.
General knowledge of manufacturing process and job costing.
Business Intelligence tools and development advantageous.
