Server Engineer/Administrator (3 Month FTC) - Datacentrix - Soweto

Datacentrix MTS's client in the manufacturing sector is looking for a Server Engineer for a period of 3 months to be based at their offices in Isando. Candidates should have at least 4-6 years experience in a similar role and have appropriate industry certifications.Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house or customers information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software, hardware and associated operating systems.Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.Responsible for the co-ordination, installation, configuration, programming, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to multiple system hardware and software architectures (MVS, Microsoft), and the range of products and productivity tools that support the development and production environments within the enterprise.Makes decisions in the areas of performance analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning, with the potential to affect the successful execution of business transactions.Ensures a stable performance environment for the business processing system.Participates in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the system infrastructure, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.
