Reference: JHB001884-JS-1 The Service Intern will work closely with the service team to support various aspects of service operations. This 12-month internship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience, particularly in the service department of a manufacturing company. The intern will have the chance to learn from experienced professionals, contribute to ongoing projects, and develop essential skills for a successful career. The successful candidate will need to reside in and around Uitenhage Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in Service Operations: Support the service team in day-to-day operations, including but not limited to repairs, maintenance, and customer service. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work orders, service reports, and customer feedback. Prepare periodic reports summarizing service activities and performance metrics. Customer Interaction: Interact with customers to understand their service requirements, provide assistance, and ensure customer satisfaction. Handle inquiries, schedule appointments, and follow up on service requests. Technical Support: Assist technicians in troubleshooting issues, utilising diagnostic equipment, and performing repairs as directed by supervisors. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control processes to ensure service standards are met or exceeded. Conduct inspections and checks to identify and rectify any deviations from quality standards. Process Improvement: Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving service processes, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Work collaboratively with team members to implement identified improvements. Training and Development: Actively engage in training sessions and on-the-job learning opportunities to enhance technical skills, product knowledge, and overall professional development. Qualifications and Requirements: Completed Matric/Grade12 (Certificate Required) Qualifications in Metrology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Strong interest in gaining practical experience in the service and maintenance of equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and customers. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
