Our client prides themselves on delivering high-quality products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ). As they continue to expand, they are seeking a talented and experienced SHEQ Manager to join their team. As the SHEQ Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of safety, health, environment, and quality within the manufacturing operations. You will ensure compliance with South African legislation and SANS (South African National Standards) codes while implementing best practices to enhance their SHEQ performance. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ management systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with South African legislation and SANS codes. Provide leadership and guidance to the SHEQ team, fostering a culture of safety, health, and environmental awareness throughout the organization. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, risks, and non-conformities, and develop action plans to address them effectively. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive measures to mitigate future occurrences. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SHEQ performance, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SHEQ requirements into all aspects of the manufacturing process, from product development to distribution. Provide training and development opportunities to employees on SHEQ policies, procedures, and best practices to promote a safe and healthy work environment. Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory authorities on SHEQ performance, including key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the SHEQ field, and recommend proactive measures to ensure compliance and maintain industry-leading practices. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Minimum of 5 years of experience in SHEQ management within the FMCG manufacturing sector, with a proven track record of success. Strong knowledge of South African legislation related to safety, health, environment, and quality, as well as relevant SANS codes and standards. Experience leading and managing a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, root cause analysis, and incident investigation techniques. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement SHEQ management systems and drive continuous improvement initiatives. R750 000 CTC to R840 000 CTC per annum based on experience and qualifications
