Company within FMCG manufacturing industry Reporting directly to the factory manager, playing pivotal role in the development of the business and will aim to improve the approach to Safety and Quality across the Group, leading safety and health campaigns from the front, engaging teams, and managers to develop a pro-active safety culture. Review and develop all aspects of H&S activity, ensuring it is implemented consistently across the Group Monitor, evaluate, and review existing, new & upcoming H&S legislation and ensure that have the systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance Develop and manage provision of all SHE training to ensure employees understand the SHE systems in place and their responsibilities in adhering to them Work proactively with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a program of continuous improvement in the area of SHE Ensure that rigorous risk assessment and accident management systems are in place to identify hazards and ensure that appropriate control measures are in place Design and deliver toolbox talks Ensure that data with regards to SHEQ performance is effectively captured and analysed to enable improvement plans to be developed Providing support and guidance on technical, legal, and other issues as required Proactively working with operational teams during the project lifecycle to ensure that SHEQ is considered at all stages and that relevant control measures are identified Assisting the business with the implementation of OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 standards at the required time Undertaking 'active' monitoring and auditing of the company's sites, providing feedback via the company's reporting system Dealing with the HSE, the Environment Agency, insurers and other bodies in the event of a major incident or as required Ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely investigation and reporting of incidents/accidents, actions and follow-up including trend analysis and root cause determination Work to reduce Environmental Impact of the business and improve sustainability Discuss areas for improvement with relevant staff / external bodies and agree appropriate corrective action Quality Accountabilities across the group (5 plants): Routinely Review existing Systems and Identify Deficiencies Implement Quality Additions and Changes Certify the organisation with the implementation of FSSC 22000, FSA, ISO 9001, etc Communicate with Customers and Clients manufacturers Stay abreast of legislative changes and attend relevant Educational Courses Consult with Colleagues re. suitability and workability of operational requirements and changes Monitor QA and FS Systems operation and make Additions, Changes etc as required Recruit and train suitable Staff in key positions to ensure conformance Ensure that response to Process Controls is prompt and as directed Review Systems routinely Authorise the Positive Release of Conforming Product Ensure that all aspects of QA and FS systems are covered Ensure that all records show Conformance to Specification and Requirements Ensure that Suppliers Conform and Customer Requirements Audit Specified Suppliers as per Auditing Schedule Identify Non-Conformances across the group and ensure that NC are Corrected through Agreed Action Plans Semi Approval / Approval of potential new suppliers Arrange and/or delegate 2nd party protein supplier audits Ensure Housekeeping Standards are adhered to Optimum Safety Standards Maintained Review Meetings take place Ensure that QA/FS related training takes place Routinely communicate with nominated customers and suppliers Communication internally and externally with regards to Technical Quality legislative matters as well as changes Monitor record keeping and Filing Systems Keep Appraised of Changes to Auditing Standards Ensure that Action Plans from earlier audits have been completed Grade 12 National Diploma Food Safety Management. Must have experience as Sherq Manager in Food industry, HACCP, Sanas, ISO, conduct internal and external audits, admin intense, manage safety teams R40 000 to R50 000 per Month basic plus medical and provident fund Apply Now
