QUALIFICATIONS: Relevant formal qualification – Solar PV Installation Certificate or Electrical Trade Test Relevant work experience in construction management in lieu of formal qualification Wireman’s licence would be advantageous PREFERRED SKILLS: Efficient in MS Office Suite Effective communication skills Analytical ability and attention to detail Understanding of solar installations and understanding of solar construction methods Practical understanding of various construction trade disciplines and or fields Self-starter with ability to work professionally and independently EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 5 year’s Site Management and Supervisory experience in the construction or facility management environment DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Health and Safety Daily – ensure tool box talks by team leaders are done or do them self Ad-hoc - Provide HSE topics to for tool box talks Daily – ensure compliance to safety file including heat stress, fall arrest, waste management & housekeeping Report all incidents/accidents and near misses to the SHEQ Officer and Construction Manager before the end of the shift Ensure you have at least 1 x First Aider and 1 x Fire Fighter on site Ensure safety induction is conducted for all visitors Performance Management Daily Plan of the day – Set out work to be done with team leaders Daily Plan of the day – Ensure team leaders understand tasks and resource requirements for work to be done Daily site access - Ensure containers, stores laydowns, roof access is opened and secured every day. Daily site inspection - Walk the site & inspect for safety hazards before work can commence Weekly – attend construction meeting with the PM or Engineer Monthly team leader appraisal forms – Submit last Friday of the month by COB Monthly asset register - Submit last Friday of the month by COB Monthly vehicle register - Submit last Friday of the month by COB Daily manage work efficiency of site teams Daily manage compliance to technical specifications Daily submit a 1 day look ahead to the CM Weekly submit a 1 week look ahead Ad-hoc – submit requests for information, acceleration or hinderance reports Quality Assurance and Control Manage defective material – ensure it is quarantined and report within 24hours Manage quality – complete milestone checklists and present to commissioning manager Project Reporting Weekly by COB on a Friday – Send 1 annotated photo to the CM per roof per site showing progress Send a completed a progress report per site to the CM Send a completed stock take report per site to the CM Send a quality report per site to the CM Weekly by 10am on a Monday – send the time sheets to the Project Administrator Site Management Design review – participate in the 80% review when required Project kick off – attend site meetings as required Logistic plan – create a logistic plan per site Logistic plan – source quotations for equipment or services required Balance of system material – measure drawings and issue requests for quotation to suppliers Prepare and deliver all field test reports and hand over documents to the commissioning manager Close out project after practical completion has been achieved Project budgets – prepare a construction plan and assist the construction manager to compile the build budgets Apply Now
