Social Media Assistant - Durban

Responsibilities:

Social Media:
  1. Engage and grow the management of social media accounts by creating and scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring engagement metrics across multiple platforms (eg: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  2. Research and curate content relevant to our industry, audience, and brand to share on social media platforms. Creating content plans and ensuring exceptional delivery of the planned content as per the content calendar.
  3. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop, optimise and monitor social media campaigns, contests, and promotions to increase followers, engagement, and brand awareness.
  4. Monitor social media trends, competitor activity, and industry news to identify opportunities for content creation and engagement.
  5. Create visually appealing graphics, images, and videos using design software or online tools to accompany social media posts.
  6. Advertising Management: develop and manage social media advertising campaigns to drive engagement, increase reach and generate revenue.
  7. Reporting and Analytics: generate monthly data driven reports giving feedback on social media effectiveness.
Administrative:
  1. Provide administrative support to the team, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings etc.
  2. Co-ordinate, manage and communicate project workflow to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  3. Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and handle inquiries from colleagues, suppliers and clients.
  4. Organise kick off sessions for all new projects, ensuring the correct teams involvement.
  5. Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets, and other documents with accurate and current information.
  6. Assist with office organization and inventory management, including ordering marketing supplies and coordinating deliveries.
  7. Source, compare and present various quotes for external resources that are needed on specific projects.
Requirements:
  1. Matric Certificate; diploma or certification in social media management, marketing, or administration.
  2. Proven experience in social media management and content creation, preferably in a professional or business setting.
  3. Familiarity with popular social media platforms and scheduling tools to manage accounts and schedule posts.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and grammar.
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other productivity tools.
  8. Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability to changing priorities and responsibilities.
  9. Passion for social media, digital marketing, and staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
