Derivco South Africa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineering Manager (DBA Dev Team) to be part of our dynamic team. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our team of Database Developers and Automation Testers. This is a full-time, in-office position requiring your presence in our Durban office five days a week. This role is focused on people management and is technically hands-off, but the ideal candidate will have a strong technical background. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of database developers and automation testers, ensuring high-quality software solutions Strategically guide the team in design, development, and maintenance of our database architecture and automated testing frameworks Facilitate collaboration with cross-functional teams to align database and testing strategies with overall business goals Implement best practices in database management and test automation, while maintaining a hands-off approach Provide mentorship and technical leadership to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement Oversee project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards Promote innovation and efficiency improvements in database and testing processes Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development At least 5 years of experience in a managerial or team lead role, with a focus on people management Excellent leadership and team management skills Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Who you are: Passionate about solving complex problems.
