JOB SUMMARY We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and inspiring individual to join our amazing team. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Director of Operations. This position requires strong, clear and consistent leadership with a focus on associate engagement and wellbeing, exceptional guest experiences, driving sales & maximizing revenue whilst living the ethos of The Westin Cape Town Culture and in accordance with Marriott International Policies and Procedures within a pressurized environment CANDIDATE PROFILE A Hospitality Management & or Relevant Spa Management qualification will be a preferred At least 3 years' relevant experience in a similar position within a 5-star hotel / wellness environment Insight of the Spa & Hotel Industry and the ability to be creative and innovative to the benefit of our guests/customers and associates. Ability to lead and motivate a team, as well as conduct constructive IR management and disciplinary processes. Excellent communication, personal skills, problem solving, decision making and conflict management skills Ability to use Initiative and be proactive and self-driven Efficient administration skills - payroll input, staff rostering, inventory control, ordering, training Effective planning, assigning and delegations of tasks to meet deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook Working knowledge of relevant Spa booking and Hotel systems (OPERA, Book4Time, Micros) Flexible working hours as well as weekends and public holidays as per operational requirements CORE WORK ACTIVITIES To have an in-depth knowledge of forecasting, budgeting and cost containment Responsible for Managing the day to day Spa operations Focus on short and long-term strategic planning and areas of revenue generation Strive to create and maintain a culture of care and service excellence amongst Spa associates Required to effectively manage and control the finances, facilities and all service aspects relating to employees and guests in order to achieve business objectives. Ensure the highest standards of service excellence and quality within the Spa environment Ensure consistent Spa experience development to ensure that innovation and uniqueness is maintained. Ensure proper inventories of all operating Spa equipment are conducted in line with audit standards in order to effectively manage operational cost. Ensure that the Spa employees follow hotels policies and procedures including health, hygiene, emergency and Fire prevention. Ensure that the spa department follows COVID safety protocols and maintain confidentiality for all guests and employees at all times. To set clear directions and goals for all members of the team and to monitor performance within a time frame To lead from the front in terms of customer interaction and to provide meaningful and detailed feedback to employees to improve the guest experience To interact, guide and motivate staff on all levels to be in a position to deliver exceptional and world-class service. Partner with product houses to improve revenue streams and product offerings Effectively manage the spa employees as deemed necessary Address and resolve both guest and employee concerns.
