South African National Blood Service has an opportunity for a Special Projects Coordinator in the blood collection department. The incumbent will coordinate and identify individuals, organisations and blood drives for the recruitment and enrollment of prospective donors for the Hyperimmune Plasmapheresis and Plateletpheresis programmes. Key Responsibilities Perform Collection of whole blood and Apherisis Platelets/Plasma Assess acceptebility of Donors according to set protocols Financial objectives Operational objectives Achieve Quality and Risk compliance Provide effective Customer Service to Donors and Patients Competencies Analytical thinking and attention to detail Customer Service Orientation Relationship Building Communication Teamwork Drive and belief in the cause Relationship Building Excellence orientation Medical Interviewing Problem Solving Registered Professional Nurse (RPN). 2 Years Registered Professional Nurse experience Current registration with SANC. Incumbent may be required to drive a company vehicle from time to time as per operational requirements. Current valid code 8 or 10 drivers license Must be prepared to work overtime, weekends and variable hours within the prescribed limits and conditions. The incumbent will be required to be on his/her feet for a lengthy period, to carry loads of up to 14kg and assist with loading and off-loading vehicles and able to climb stairs.
