Specialist – Process (Automation) Engineer - Jacobs
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • To continue the development of our online monitoring platforms for production management • Identify monitoring opportunities that will have maximum benefit to the organization • Implementation of point of use monitoring for energy consumption throughout operational sites • Maintain the online platforms already developed • Design and modify interfaces for online platform in accordance with management requirements • Maintain Promanage monitoring system • Identify and implement commercially beneficial Automation projects within the factory • Work with PLC technician teams, on Automation projects. • Support PLC technical team with operational requirements, including critical breakdowns • Improve overall factory automation points • Complete quality improvement and automation projects in line with Qlive portfolio • To prepare and make presentations in areas of responsibility when required • Guide Production Engineering and IT with regards to network Architecture, to support the Organizations movement towards industry 3.0 and 4.0 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • BEngTech – Honours (Electronic Engineering), BEng (Mechatronics), BSc (Electronic) • Understanding of PLC and Device communication protocols. • Understanding of network requirements with regards to Industry 4.0 • Project management proficiency • Sufficient understanding of IT infrastructure • PLC and electronics’ fault-finding abilities • Willing to travel to Ladysmith REQUIRED SKILLS: • Continues learning. • Self-motivated • Critical thinking. • Technological knowledge. • Interpersonal skills. • Complex problem-solving skills • Innovative thinking. • Time management
