SPECIALIST - MICROSOFT SECURITY & FIREWALLS (SOPHOS) – Midrand R 600 000 – R 700 000 PA CTC Seeking an experienced Specialist with expertise in Microsoft security solutions and Sophos firewalls to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our organization's IT infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of Microsoft security technologies and the ability to configure and manage Sophos firewalls effectively. Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge Required Minimum of 8 of experience in a similar role with a focus on Microsoft security and Sophos firewalls. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security, Microsoft Certified: Security, or Sophos certifications are highly desirable. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft security technologies and Sophos firewall configurations. Familiarity with networking protocols, TCP/IP, and network security principles. Duties Microsoft Security: Implement and manage Microsoft security solutions, including but not limited to Microsoft Defender ATP, Azure Security Centre, and Windows Defender Firewall. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities. Sophos Firewall Management: Configure, deploy, and manage Sophos firewalls to protect the organization's network. Monitor firewall logs, analyse security incidents, and implement corrective actions. Network Security: Work collaboratively with network and system administrators to ensure the overall security of the organization's network infrastructure. Implement and maintain firewall rules and policies to safeguard against emerging threats. Incident Response: Develop and execute incident response plans in coordination with the cybersecurity team. Investigate and analyse security incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for improvement. Documentation and Training: Document security configurations, procedures, and incident reports. Provide training and awareness programs to staff on security best practices.
