The storeman is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of stock items within a warehouse or storeroom environment. They ensure the accuracy and completeness of inventory records and maintain a safe and organized work area. Receive deliveries, verifying quantities and condition against packing slips and invoices. Unpack and inspect merchandise for damage. Organize and store stock items according to designated procedures. Maintain accurate inventory records using a warehouse management system (WMS) or other tools. Locate and retrieve stock items for order fulfillment. Pack and label outgoing orders according to shipping specifications. Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts (with proper certification), pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Conduct cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy. Report any discrepancies or damages to stock to supervisors. May assist with loading and unloading trucks. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience working in a warehouse or storeroom environment a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects. Excellent organizational skills. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software programs. Additional Skills: Working knowledge of forklift operation and safety procedures. Experience with inventory management systems. Understanding of basic warehouse safety principles. Market Related
