Key Performance Areas : The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) represents the entire range of Company products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customer’s need and expectations are met by the Company. Strategic accounts refer to strategically important, large, stakeholders and customers. Develops and executes a strategic regional marketing plan for all products and related products. Conduct market research and obtain competitive intelligence for the region. Minimum Skills and experience required A technical qualification in Engineering, Marketing or related field is required. 5-10 years of experience in the industry and equipment is required. Direct mining experience with similar equipment is a plus. Knowledge of the market in mining operations is desired Must have excellent communication and public speaking skills with an ability to demonstrate confidence. Technical aptitude and experience with strategic planning is desired. Experience in managing big projects is an advantage Job Specification (not totally inclusive) Liaise with technical product support, engineering personnel and Account Managers. Advise Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Purchasing departments of technical issues, potential solutions or product enhancements to mitigate negative impact and protect or grow the overall business. Responsible for guiding and setting the direction for the marketing functions and plans for new product development initiatives from project launch to commercialization. Develop and execute regional Product roadmaps. Initiate and execute on VOC initiatives for product development, continuous improvement and general market research. Develop regional marketing, sales and training literature. Develop and justify a regional pricing strategy. Establish relationships with Regional Marketing, Sales and Services personnel. Establish and develop relationships with new and existing customers. Manage regional Longwall budget. Become recognized regional expert for product(s) (Technically and Commercially). Prepare and present customer proposals and product presentations. Provide content direction and assist with the development and implementation of advertising and promotional activities and programs. Identify and execute on potential process improvements (i.e. Sales Forecast, Pricing, Product Development, Product Configuration, VOC, VOB, etc.) Interface with Global Product group on a regular basis. Ensure that the Global VP of Longwall products is regularly informed on the regional progress, issues and market movements. Manage assigned sales revenue and margin budgets. Financial impact of $5 - $20 million per year Behavioural Competencies required Confidential information handled includes: strategic planning, tactical planning, product strategy, design and engineering data, manufacturing costs, supplier quotations, customer quotations, and profit margins This position requires travel not controlled by the incumbent, often with little notice, and often with an irate customer as the destination. This position will be traveling about 70% of the time to client sites and on-site mining locations Salary: (Negotiable according to exp.) - As a guideline the basic salary will be about R75000 per month, with travel allowance of 25%, cellphone allowance, full medical aid at Essential saver level, non-contributory provident fund, 13th cheque and non-guaranteed performance bonus.
