Owning, redeveloping, and managing their portfolio in-house has allowed them to offer a leisure-like feel to their growing complement of clients. In their buildings housing over 10,000 beds spread across four cities, they intend to make everyone's university stay as luxurious as possible by offering all services in-house. This means that you can choose a studio or a 4-bedroom apartment while enjoying free WIFI, a fitness center, a laundromat, a computer centre and a tranquil study area. To be based at one of their buildings in Pretoria, living on-site, they are looking for a Property Manager to take charge of managing 1500 beds. Your energetic students will have you managing a variety of departments to ensure that the building is on par with company policies and that your tenants, as well as their parents, are living in a happy and safe environment. This will have you dealing with facilities, utilities, suppliers, financial and staff management. Each building has a strong Duty Manager in-house who will look after the maintenance of the building or you, but you will have to ensure that everything is running and in good standing. This will include the security staff, health, and safety policies, ensuring that lifts and HVAC maintenance are adhered to and that transportation and canteen services are sorted. You have to be a creative thinker to implement energy-saving tips and plans to ensure that you can monitor your electrical and water usage. Understanding heat pumps, air conditioning and reporting on monthly consumption will assist you in your monthly report. This role is for someone who has great communication and crisis management skills coupled with a tertiary qualification in Property, Business, Finance or any related field. It is mandatory that you have at least 3 years' property management experience working in the hospitality, residential, student accommodation, or senior living sector with a proven track record in debtors' management, leasing, facilities, health and safety as well as utilities management.
