Sustainable Production Field Coordinator - Ellisras
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or Agro-Economics
- A good understanding of farming and agricultural practices is essential
- Must have a valid drivers license and be will to travel will be in the field 80% of time
- Good communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required
- Must have highly developed report writing and presentation skills, with great attention to detail
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Implementing, monitoring, and evaluating Sustainable Tobacco Production (STP) programs within the company.
- Establishing linkages and maintaining communication between internal and external resources necessary for the STP and other programs.
- Ensuring a good understanding of field operations in Agronomy.
- Conducting field visits often to ensure practical rollout and application of programs.
- Assisting with the compilation of Agronomy department reports, including reporting on STP program status.
- Ensuring Departmental ISO and EHS targets and programs are implemented.
- Responsible for STP audit preparation and coordination.
- Developing reports that use farmer data, collected through the companys software program, to improve the management of commercial farmers.
- Managing and developing a STP budget.
- Managing project budgets and determining the direction of which projects are worthwhile funding.
- Assisting in the determination of on-farm Cost of Production models and the sustainability of commercial farming economics.
