A luxury Destination Management Company is looking for Senior Tour Consultant / Tourism Teachers in Cape Town & Gauteng. To assist in designing tour packages by skilfully negotiating and contracting rates that will help convert as many enquires and/or quotes into bookings profitably and to perform the department's administrative and operational matters. (60% of your time to be spent on quoting and booking confirmations and 40% on admin, general office related matters and operations). Key Result Areas: 1. To understand our clients' needs and requirements – know what to sell when, where and how. 2. Developing your product knowledge to assist with achieving our key business objectives. i.e. On the job training, attending prescribed roadshows, conducting your own product training and by personally developing your understanding of tour routes and products we sell to the different market segment we work in. 3. To ensure clients are responded to timeously, tasks are carried out and to provide feedback to the relevant parties i.e. Travellers, Suppliers, Agent partners, Sales Support Team, Line Mangers and Managing Director Key Performance Areas To create and maintain profitable sales. Communicate accurate product knowledge and information, including pricing and costs to our clients. Always offer and update clients of options and reasons behind your thinking. Apply effective selling and tracking techniques to close every potential sale or enquiry. Ensure correctness of costs, margins, nett and gross selling by checking with suppliers first Reduce transaction turnaround times and ensure effective communication with suppliers and team. Everything important or monetary related to be done in writing. Create product understanding with clients and use our marketing skilfully to win business Know what we sell and what we do not sell – know the product mix and preferred partnerships. Also shop for rates, even with preferred suppliers. Best pricing always. Understand the intricacies of your product, hotel types, flight possibilities, transfers, tours etc. and be able to upsell. Use approved suppliers first and ensure we have contracts in place. Be aware of competitors' products and pricing and be able to counteroffer and better. Ensure that your clients are aware of promotions, specials and product developments. Consult and support our Online Marketing and Information Administrator regarding website and marketing mailers. Correctly built itineraries and costing for correct selling periods. Communicate effectively and regularly with sales reps (domestic and international), work together to close sales. Competent in the use of available resources and operational requirements. Know what we sell and do. All invoicing on files to be doubled checked prior to submission to clients or accounts for final payment and closure. No losses or overcharging. Files to be checked timeously prior to arrival - all travel services are booked and confirmed and all details are communicated to suppliers and clients. Errors omitted and hassle free travel. To ensure management decisions are carried out and to provide feedback. Provide feedback to the relevant party i.e. Management, suppliers and clients. Provide feedback to management regarding general office and client issues. Ensure that the company policies and terms and conditions are implemented and adhered to Experience in the Inbound Tourism sector, preferably for a DMC/Inbound Tour operator and B2B – although B2C experience with inbound will also be considered Knowleadge of Southern African counties and trends Market related salary Uncapped commission Apply Now
