Team Leader: Office of the CFO Excellent Learning Opportunity Cape Town This key role reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and would be responsible for full management of the CFO’s office. The ideal candidate is someone with previous experience in auditing the public sector as well as a high level of business acumen and the ability to pay attention to detail. RESPONSIBILITIES: Key Performance Area: Audit Champion (internal and external audits) Liaise with audit staff and ensure that audit protocol is maintained Track and monitor all RFI’s and ensure that information requested is correct prior to submission to audit teams Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that documentation required for audit is readily available and submitted Ensure adequate preparation for audits is done on a consistent basis Set up steering committee meetings to ensure issues are identified and addressed Review any audit findings and liaise with management to prepare responses Manage the audit process to ensure that audit timelines are met Track implementation of management action plans post audit to ensure root causes are addressed adequately and reported to the relevant committees. Key Performance Area: Financial Analysis Review and analysis of all documentation/claims/submissions for the CFO’s office Review and analysis of the monthly management accounts and related working papers as well as any reports due to stakeholders Preparation of documents and presentations on behalf of the CFO as and when required Key Performance Area: Project Management Project manage key projects on behalf of the CFO Track and monitor all actions arising out of meetings Track and monitor submission of all reports due to external stakeholders Manage the Finance service desk and ensure tracking of internal stakeholder requests Key Performance Area: Business Analysis Review and analyse key business processes and identify areas for improvement Investigate and look for relevant opportunities to automate business processes Prepare and or review business cases and plans for consideration Key Performance Area: Project financing Review and analyse proposals for internal and external project funding Co-ordinate audits and engage with external auditors on all audits for project/donor funds REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications and Experience B Com or equivalent NQF level 7 financial Degree Completed Articles Knowledge and understanding of GRAP Public sector audit experience would be advantageous Competencies Strong analytical, strategic and creative problem solving skills Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects and tight deadlines Good project planning and organizing skills Ability to function independently and within a team Computer literacy plus advanced proficiency in MsOffice Apply Now
