Westfalia Marketing Africa situated in Tzaneen in Limpopo, has a permanent vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Technical Advisor. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for technical / horticultural support to growers supplying subtropical fruit such as avocados, mangoes, and litchis through Westfalia Marketing. Qualifications / Experience: BSc / MSc Agriculture, preferably in Horticulture or Soil Science. Previous experience in / exposure to containerized shipping of fruit would be advantageous. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of pre- and post-harvest agricultural principles and practices for fresh produce. Solid understanding of the principles of nutrition of tree crops. A basic knowledge of the principles of food safety management. Fully proficient in Microsoft Excel (strong in data management, pivot tables). GIS experience would be useful. Skills: Good communication skills. Ability to enhance our professional image. Time management. Relationship management (growers and overseas clients). Problem-solving skills. Presentations, scientific communications. Attitude / Behaviour: Innovative, attention to detail, initiative, energy, and drive. Able to work with minimum supervision. Ability to thrive under pressure. Willing to travel both locally and internationally.
