As the Technical Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing their day-to-day technical operations, overseeing their cloud infrastructure, systems, and products. This is a very hands-on role. As a Technical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:Managing and overseeing their technical teamProposing and implementing improvements to our business infrastructureMonitoring and reporting progress on technical projectsEnsuring a seamless user experience for both customers and internal usersWriting IT policies to ensure compliance and securityMaintaining a high level of service in our ticketing systemManaging both physical and cloud-hosted infrastructureDeveloping and implementing backup and disaster recovery plansEnsuring security through IPS and firewallsManaging and optimizing cloud costsMaintaining mail flow protocols (SMTP/DKIM/SFP/DMARC)Conducting root cause analysis for system issuesTroubleshooting and resolving technical problemsManaging telephony equipment, servers, and VoIP systemsHandling password and certificate managementEnsuring reliable last mile connectivity and redundancyUnderstanding and managing internet protocols (ARP/TCP/UDP/ICMP/HTTP/HTTPS, etc.)Managing networks, switches, firewalls, VLANs, servers, desktops, and BYOD devicesMonitoring all systems and servers for performance and uptimePerforming system upgrades and patch managementOverseeing infrastructure projects from planning to executionProviding a smooth user onboarding and offboarding experienceDocumenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and IT policiesManaging IT equipment purchases and maintaining IT asset registersEstablishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and contractorsManaging office access control and basic network managementEducating and mentoring direct reports through the IDP processEvangelizing and educating company staff on security best practices Skills & Experience: A minimum of 7 years' experience in managing corporate networks and/or live hosted infrastructureStrong knowledge of networking and system administration fundamentalsExperience with scripting and automation (DevOps, PowerShell, bash, bicep, etc.)Proficiency in supporting Azure AD, Microsoft365, and Intune or similar technologiesSQL Server Administration experienceExperience with Azure IAAS & PAAS or similar platformsExcellent communication and people management skillsThe ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure learning environmentCommitment and availability during work hours and emergencies Although you may not meet all the requirements needed, please still consider sending through your CV as we have many roles available and could possibly find another great opportunity for you Contact Selandea McGuinness on smguinnesscommunicate.co.za or 021 418 1750, quoting the Ref: CTI003251.
