Technician: IT Support and Service Desk - Brits

Job Summary:Provide technical support to business users of ICT equipment and systems. This will include end user support, desktop support and infrastructure support across both hardware and software platforms.Main Responsibilities (not limited to):• Install, configure, and maintain end user computing devices such as laptop computers, printers, mobile devices, and other peripheral equipment.• Respond to support tickets logged by the SABN IT systems users and resolve within the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) timelines.• Ensure open tickets are managed timeously and accurately.• Offer end-user support via various platform such as telephone, email, Microsoft Teams, and in person support.• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network related issues for the end-user.• Setup and maintenance of user accounts for Active Directory, Email, and Office 365.• Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and knowledge sharing within the ICT team.• Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets for the ICT department.• Ensure compliance to governance policies and procedures are always maintained.• Maintain technical and professional skills and knowledge to keep abreast of current technology trends in related functional areas.• Maintain ServiceDesk processes and controls.The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:• Grade 12/ Matric.• Comptia A / Comptia N Advantageous• 1-2 years as a Technical Support Trainee/Technician in manufacturing environment, with evidence of an aptitude for IT related work.Knowledge and Skills:• Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10/11 setup and administration)• Desktop Hardware (Computer component assembly and repair)• Software Installation and Configuration (Windows, Office, Adobe, PowerBI, etc)• Printer Configuration (Desktop and Network)• Mobile device configuration (Mobile Phones, Scanners, etc)• Audio Visual Devices (Screens, Speakers, Audio Mixers)• Microsoft Office Productivity tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)Internal applicants should apply on the SABN careers portal on the intranet by uploading detailed CV’s and copies of qualifications.
