Reefer Technicians are to provide their services to the Depot in the preparing and repairing reefer containers or equipment for bookings/shipment (in or out of season) as per agreed standards and client requirements. Provides services to the depot preparing and repairing of all reefer type container equipment as per the required standards as set out by the clients and/or customers. Thorough knowledge of refrigeration; Whilst a refrigeration trade test is not essential it is an added advantage; Technical abilities and training of other technicians within the department Sharing information on the technical aspects to the client repair standards and or the repair manuals. Common fault finding and what to look out for. Maintains reefers in a clean and serviceable condition. By ensuring that the machinery end of the container and all its functions are cleaned where applicable. Once the containers have been washed perform a pre-trip inspection and shall complete the “PRE-TRIP INSPECTION REPORT (PTI)–REFRIGERATED CONTAINERS”. Upon completion of the pre-trip inspection he shall set the temperature at 0'C Perform minor repairs and major repairs as and when required. Conduct repairs to refrigerated marine containers on the Depot; Conduct pre-trip inspection of empty refrigerated marine containers on the Depot after the repair Upgrade the software on any of the containers as required and then run the reefer containers on the AUTO 2 & 3 program and prepare for PPECB inspections as arranged by office Check and verify the container ID on the controller to match the container number on the container Visually inspect the Vents by opening it to see that there are no blockages or tape covering the Vent. Minimum 5 years in Depot environment. The applicant must have extensive experience in all types of reefers including Starcool units and must be physically fit for the job. Must have knowledge and experience on CA unit prepping and monitoring. Computer literate Code 08 (B) drivers' licence is mandatory. Market Related
