Job Purpose The purpose of the Technician/Junior Technician role is to provide support to clients by installing and commissioning equipment, conducting planned and unplanned maintenance, handling breakdowns and repairs, and servicing equipment as per maintenance schedules. It is crucial to follow health and safety procedures. The duties are performed on the clients' sites. Technicians represent the company and providing excellent service is a key part of the role. It is also a requirement for Technicians to obtain sales leads. A valid code B driver's license is required for this role Installation, maintenance, repairs & breakdowns. Upgrade and/or refurbish equipment where required. Conduct quality checks on all work completed. Assist with commissioning HVAC units and equipment using OEM standard configuration and commissioning procedures. Submit Job Cards. Work with Procurement to monitor the availability of parts. Order and collect new tools directly from Procurement. Complete timesheets, overtime sheets, and Job Cards (including Manual Job Cards) daily and submit to the Administrator / Site Supervisor to process quotes and invoices. Observe Health & Safety Procedures. Provide regular status reports to client / Site Supervisor / Project Manager / Administrator daily (or more often where necessary). Providing after-hours assistance as required. Qualifications Studying towards a Trade e.g. Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic, Millwright or similar is preferred. Or studying towards a Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar qualification (N4 – N6) is preferred. Advanced Airconditioning and Refrigeration Certificate Advanced Electrical Certificate preferred. Experience Approximately 10 years' experience in a similar role Experience in the HVAC, heating and cooling systems, industrial refrigeration industry Site work experience. Experience using hand and power tools. Demonstrated use of tools such as multimeter, probe tester Demonstrated ability to read a schematic diagram, fault finding skills, wiring skills. Knowledge of PC Boards and electronics Computer skills including Word and Excel Knowledge of using a smart phone with various applications Experience working with clients. Market Related
