Position Overview The Technology Support Technician plays a vital role in supporting the learning, teaching, and operational goals of the school. They work closely with staff and students on a daily basis, supporting their use of devices and systems. This includes end-user devices, access to productivity tools, learning platforms, network systems (LAN and WiFI), data systems, and audio/visual systems. General Responsibilities Execute technology support in accordance with ITIL guidelines. Ensure Technology assets are accounted for. Keep the asset register up to date. Log calls with external providers where and when necessary. Troubleshoot and assess repairs of Windows PCs and/or computer assembly. Troubleshoot and assess Mac laptops and coordinate with service providers for repairs. Provide technical support to the Theatre and Fine Arts Centre. Relocate, install, set up, and configure technology equipment. Relocate, install, set up, and configure audio and visual equipment to support events. Create and manage accounts on Office 365 and Google Workspace. Manage support calls by providing continual feedback, timely resolution, and follow-up calls subsequent to closure. Close support tickets as per the identified SLA. Perform periodic preventative maintenance identified by management. Make recommendations to management for improving processes. Capture procurement items on the business workflow system. Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with department guidelines. Perform and support other tasks as identified by the Technology Manager. Attributes: Friendly and personable demeanor Able to work on his/her own initiative and to solve problems. Ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing Ability to collaborate with I.T team to maintain standards and SLA's Great attention to detail Excellent organizational and coordination abilities Self-starter and self-motivator Ability to take ownership and responsibility Possess the drive to learn and is adaptable to change/new technologies Ability to critically analyze a symptom, diagnose a fault, plan and take appropriate action Ability to work under pressure Willing to work overtime when and if needed Ability to participate in and establish collaborative working relationships Minimum Requirements: Education Matric Certificate A/N MCSE/MCSA A tertiary qualification in a technology-related field (Advantageous) Minimum Requirements: Work Experience Minimum of three years in an IT support/technician role Experience with Apple OS, Apple iOS Experience servicing and maintaining Windows OS Experience with Google Workspace/Suite/Apps Experience troubleshooting Apple hardware and software Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory (advantageous) Experience in audio and video setups for events (S ound mixers , mic an d speaker setup, lighting equipment ) (advantageous) Experience in event internet live streaming (advantageous) Skills Required Hardware and software troubleshooting Asset management skills Knowledge of LAN and WiFi systems Familiar with the TCP/IP v4 and V6 protocol, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, ICMP Support end-user devices (Mac and PC laptops, mobile devices, microphones, camera's) Knowledge of hardware components and hardware troubleshooting procedures Knowledge of Microsoft and Apple desktop operating systems and desktop software Effectively operate theatre equipment Market related Apply Now
