Television Production Accountant - Gauteng
Rapid Blue, one of the leading production companies in Africa, is looking for a production accountant to join the team.Closing date for applications: 31 March 2024Start date: 1 May 2024 (handover period end of April)Reports directly to the Head of Television, Financial Director and Supervising Producer and works in conjunction with Series Producers and Line Producers.Production accountantThe primary function of this position is to supervise and manage all financial transactions and financial planning for the productions.Will be required to work across a number of productions.Manage production budget (internal and external) in conjunction with the Series Producer, Line Producer, Head of Television, Supervising Producer and Financial Director.Ensure the finance department have the client’s payment terms for all projects.Determine and maintain the working budget bi-weekly in conjunction with the Series Producer and Line Producer.Cost reports to be produced weekly and / or monthly for review and sign off by EP, Series Producer, Line Producer Head of Television, Supervising Producer and Financial DirectorWhen required, reports and communicates with client with regard to production reports and deviations. Answer queries from them always keeping the Head of Television, Supervising Producer, Financial Director and production team on copy. Engages with the various departments on the production to ensure that all financial obligations and reporting is met. Liases closely with RB supervising producer and the production teams in terms of process and managing the financial deliveries required from the production and accounts department.Duties include Production Tasks, Petty Cash, Reporting, Accounts payable and Payroll.
