Experienced Plastics Tool Maker from the Plastics manufacturing industry is required for a manufacturing company on the East Rand
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance, repair, modification and production of tooling for the manufacturing process
- Understand drawings, specifications, and requirements to design and develop precision tooling for plastic injection moulding
- Manufacture tooling components using a variety of machining techniques and materials
- Assembly of tooling components and dies to ensure proper alignment, functioning, and optimum performance
- Maintenance and repair of moulds, and tooling/equipment maintenance measures to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
- Perform quality checks and inspections of finished and repaired tooling/components
- Interact with production and engineering to optimize injection moulding processes, making recommendations for tooling improvements
- Ensure adherence to all company safety regulations, and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of tooling register, specifications, maintenance and repairs
Requirements
- Matric or relevant N2/3 qualification
- Red seal Qualified Tool and Die Maker
- 6 – 10 years’ experience working as a Tool and Die Maker in the plastic moulding industry
- Able to read and understand drawings, schematics, diagrams as well as CAD models
- Ability to use a variety of machinery in order to manufacture and assemble high quality and reliable tooling for production – new tooling and repairs
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Market related salary – subject to relevant qualification, experience and track record
