The successful incumbent must have the ability to work accurately and independently and have a good attendance and timekeeping record. The position could involve shift work. Duties of the Maintenance Assistant position include, amongst others : To assist Artisans in the maintenance and repair of all plant machinery and equipment. To assist Artisans in the installations and upgrades of all plant machinery and equipment. Ensure assigned jobs are completed before the deadlines. Safe use and operation of all manual and electrical tools. Housekeeping. Duties of the Toolroom Assistant position include, amongst others : To assist Toolmakers in the manufacturing and refurbishment of tooling as per tooling drawings. Ensure assigned jobs are completed before the deadlines. Safe operation of tools and machinery. Housekeeping The incumbent must have: A minimum of a Grade 12 (Technical Matric advantageous) A minimum of 2 years Maintenance / Toolroom work experience. Nated subjects within the relevant field advantageous Good Numeracy and Literacy skills Good problem-solving and communication skills Strong disciplined approach to completing tasks and target driven.
