Trainee Accountant Contracts - SAICA, SAIPA, and CIMA - South Africa
Description Sagen Advisory Recruitment Company has SAICA, SAIPA, and CIMA Training Contracts available for graduates and postgraduates who have completed an accounting, auditing, or relevant finance degree at an accredited institution, and who are looking for opportunities with our accounting and assurance clients, who are well-established firms, and registered training offices, with proven track records. Our clients are based across the Western Cape – Winelands, Helderberg, Northern Suburbs, and even as far as the Garden Route. These firms are on the lookout for quality individuals, reliable, responsible, and determined to make a high-value impact and take initiative, with the ambition to learn as much as possible during the 3-year internship. Duties and Responsibilities: SAICA: Perform audit work. Produce client reports. Complete tax returns. Finalise an audit file and propose an audit opinion. Manage personal performance. Work effectively in teams. Uphold ethics and values and act with integrity. Write clearly and succinctly. Set clear objectives and plan activities. Work productively and in a challenging environment. SAIPA and CIMA: Perform accounting work. Produce client reports. Administrative duties. Full bookkeeping and accounting function up to trial balance, including debtors, creditors, bank, petty cash, journals, etc. Handling of VAT and PAYE reviews. Invoicing and debtors’ collection. IRP5 calculations, reconciliations, and submissions. Liaison with clients. Maintenance of SARS accounts. PAYE/UIF/SDL calculations and EMP201 submissions. Registration and deregistration for Income Tax, PAYE, VAT, and Import and Export licenses. Tax clearance applications. UIF registration and administration. VAT calculations and VAT201 submissions. WCA registrations, submission of returns, and arranging letters of good standing. Qualifications and experience: BAccounting, BAccHons degree, Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences, Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences (SAICA). BAccounting, BCom Accounting, BCom Management Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting, or equivalent (SAIPA or CIMA). Computer literacy. Ability to work in a team. Excellent attention to detail. Driver’s license and own transport. Remuneration: Market Related.
