Training Manager - Cape Town City Centre

takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Training Manager to join our Takealot Delivery Team in Cape Town , reporting to the Franchise Compliance Training Manager. Your responsibilities will include: ● Setting up and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). ● SOP control management. ● Content writing in both SOP and training material. ● New franchisee and management training. ● Train SOP’s at a franchisee level. ● Willing and able to travel for hands on, face-to-face training. ● Set and maintain service levels of the franchise network through continuous training standards and expectations. ● Develop and deliver highly effective training content and learning design strategies using adult learning principles, including: ✔ Needs analysis; ✔ Development of specific and measurable learning objectives; ✔ High level and detailed designs; ✔ Measurement and evaluation strategies; ✔ Implementation plans. ● Provide input into high level project requirements including challenging/questioning the team in order to verify the best solution and delivery method has been chosen. ● Effectively scope and cost all learning projects. ● Design detailed solutions that meet the highest level project requirements. ● Use instructional design theory and knowledge of learning methodology to design innovative and high quality digital solutions for learners. ● Storyboarding experience. ● Ability to work in cooperation with a project manager as well as manage projects independently. ● Monitor, evaluate and report on learning outcomes. ● Design, develop and implement standardised methods, procedures, governance and frameworks. ● Analyse and interpret operational strategy, strategic plans/objectives and other project related data in the development of enterprise learning solutions. ● Analyse, design, develop and implement comprehensive and supportive learning management structures, strategies, policies, plans, processes, procedures, tools (eg. dashboards), interventions and programmes. ● Conduct best practice research of learning practices, learning technologies, learning architectures, policies, procedures, guidelines and legislation related to learning management. Attributes & experience required: ● High energy, self-starter and execution bias. ● Learning project management skills. ● System and process orientated. ● Understand convenience and basic customer service principles. ● Customer focused at all times - understanding their needs and keeping them in mind when taking actions or making decisions. ● Must be able to work in high pressured environments, willing to work when the business requires. ● Comfortable with change and an excellent team player. ● Low on ego, high on delivery and execution. ● Organized & sound communication will be key success factors. ● Ability to spot deficiencies in operational management practices/areas of risk/areas that require improvement for SOP’s to be updated accordingly. ● Knowledge and experience in instructional design. ● Knowledge and experience in learning solution development and implementation. ● Knowledge and experience of learning technologies, learning architecture, learning modes and modalities. ● Understand how technology works for business - a strong understanding of and a passion for learning and e-learning technologies and how they can be used to add value and transform user learning. ● Comfortable using Zoom/meet/Teams for remote training where required. ● Experience in relationship management including the ability to identify business issues and potential risks. ● Goal orientated - maintain focus on agreed objectives and deliverables. ● Follow up and monitoring - checking progress against targets, reporting as necessary and taking action to resolve exceptions. ● Strong client handling skills - interpersonal skills and networking. ● In depth knowledge of project scope and budget management experience. ● Train-the-trainer approach will be required to be able to inspire and transfer knowledge to the extent that learners can teach others. ● Must be a good facilitator to be able to train people in a group setting. Minimum qualification requirements: ● Matric (grade 12) certificate or similar. ● B-Comm or Human Resources Management degree with specialization in Skills Development, Training Management, Instructional Learning Development & Design advantageous. ● 3 years’ experience as an SDF and L&D Manager. ● Extensive experience with appropriate computer software, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Lotus Notes), and other learning and authoring software packages. ● Proven track record in delivery and execution of successfully created & implemented project initiatives. ● Previous hospitality/retail franchise working experience. ● IT or tech savvy will be advantageous. ● Certification in Train-the-Trainer and Assessors (Moderators will be an added advantage). ● Previous track record in material design aligned to both business strategy and operational output (being certified in Material Design will be advantageous). ● A strong understanding of WebEx, Lectora, Articulate, Webcasting and LMS systems would be highly desirable. ● Experience in designing high quality blended learning solutions that will enhance business benefits will be beneficial. ● Previous experience in the logistics industry is not required.
