Training Officer Retail Industry - South Africa

TRAINING OFFICER (Retail Industry) My client, a giant in the retail industry (JSE listed), is looking for a vivacious, robust, and highly energetic individual in the role of a Training Officer. Main Purpose of the Job The incumbent will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing training programs for retail employees to help them learn effective selling and customer service skills. The incumbent will work closely with the Sales team and Store Operators to train the sales team members to be efficient at their jobs. You will ensure that our team increases its sales skills and product awareness. You should have excellent product training, store training, and customer service skills and represent our brands in the best possible way. Key Performance Areas: Design and execute orientation programs for sales teams Conduct onboarding training sessions for new hires Assess the training needs of all individuals and teams and conduct training for them Train the salespeople on how to promote the companys products and services effectively Act as a consultant to salespeople for challenges they have on the job Assign mentors and coaches to new sales team members Observe how salespeople and cashiers interact with clients to identify areas of improvement Determine training needs both for individuals and teams Organize role-playing activities to simulate difficult client cases (e.g. how to overcome objections) After-sales customer engagement skills Advise salespeople on how to upsell products and services Apply various sales training techniques (e.g. gamification, case studies, and group activities) Collect feedback from management regarding training material and make improvements as per the requirements of people Research and implement new training techniques and technologies for our organisation. Maintain updated records of training curriculum and material Ensure the relevance and effectiveness of eLearning material. Key Requirements Work experience as a Retail Trainer, Sales Trainer or similar role Experience in the retail industry Availability to travel and visit retail stores, as needed Ability to manage the full training cycle, including conducting in-person activities and using e-learning platforms Excellent presentation skills Key Competencies Relevant training qualification Computer Literate (MS Word, MS Excel, Internet, E-Mail) 5 Years work experience in a training/skills development environment Code 8 Drivers licence Attention to Detail Planning and Organizational skills Ability to Multi-task Excellent Communication Ability (Written and Oral) Multilingual individual will be an advantage Must be able to work independently Apply Now
