Transplant / Organ Procurement Coordinator (ICU) - Pretoria
The Organ Procurement Coordinator will handle the entire organ transplant process. This includes communication and coordination between the donor/donor’s family, recipient, and doctors regarding organ transplantation services. The incumbent will manage the deceased organ donor process and facilitate procurement of viable organs for transplantation to a waiting recipient. The Organ Procurement Coordinator will also provide assistance during organ recovery, transportation and follow up post-transfer. Further to this, the incumbent will act as an expert in the area of, transplantation and will provide information and prepare presentations and other communication to support standards of care but most importantly will support the principle of organ donation and transplantation. The Organ Procurement Coordinator will be required to work in consultation with other stakeholders to form synergistic partnerships to achieve organisational transplant objectives aligned to person centered health and care.
